high-performing, mission-led chocolate brands.
RiKIKI Concept Store, Düsseldorf, Germany
In Düsseldorf’s lively Flingern district, RiKIKI has built a reputation as one of the city’s go-to concept stores for design-led gifts, stationery, and distinctive food brands. With its carefully curated shelves, every product in RiKIKI tells a story — from independent makers to sustainable producers and artistic collaborations that spark curiosity.
Among their standout gourmet finds are two chocolate brands that have become firm favourites with customers: COCO Chocolatier and Otherly Oatm*lk.
RiKIKI is known for its design-driven selection - how did COCO Chocolatier first catch your attention?
It actually started quite locally. We discovered COCO when we heard that Düsseldorf-based artist Roman Klonek had collaborated with them on their 2025 Easter range. We’ve always admired Roman’s woodcut prints; his work has this wonderful mix of playfulness and precision, so when we saw his artwork featured on COCO’s bars, we knew we had to bring them in. It was a beautiful way to support a local artist and introduce something truly unique to our customers.
And how has COCO performed since you first listed it?
Exceptionally well! The collaboration with Roman got people talking, the packaging was art in itself but the chocolate quality kept them coming back. The rate of sale surprised us, actually. It didn’t take long before we decided to expand the range and add more COCO lines beyond the ones featuring Roman’s artwork. Now we carry several of their flavours and seasonal collections, and they’ve become a real staple for us.
You also stock Otherly, how does that fit alongside COCO?
They complement each other perfectly. COCO attracts customers who love bold design, artistic collaborations, and premium gifting. Otherly, on the other hand, speaks to a younger, more consciously minded crowd, those looking for something vegan, inclusive, and a little quirky. The tone and personality of the brand are so positive and fun; it really resonates with our more sustainability-driven shoppers.
How do these brands sit within your wider product mix?
We’ve always believed that our shelves should reflect diversity: in design, taste, and values. COCO and Otherly are great examples of that philosophy. They both offer something distinct: COCO adds that artistic, luxurious feel, while Otherly brings colour, inclusivity, and a modern ethical story. Together, they help us tap into different customer moods and occasions, from everyday indulgence to gifting.
Would you say carrying both brands has strengthened your confectionery offer?
Absolutely. Having both has made our chocolate section far more dynamic. Each brand appeals to a different mindset, the art lover, the design collector, the vegan foodie, the conscious shopper. It means we can offer something for everyone without diluting our identity as a design-focused concept store. COCO and Otherly each have their own world, and together they bring real depth to our selection.
If you had to sum up why these two brands work so well for RiKIKI?
They both celebrate creativity and individuality, just in their own ways. COCO is refined and artistic, Otherly is playful and inclusive. For a store like ours that champions the thoughtful gifting, that balance is perfect.
